1 Styler that will change your Natural Hair Routine

As a community, I think us curly girls are product junkies at heart and always think we need several products to style our hair, but truth is we don’t. Yes, there are styling systems that require more than one product and some of us just love to layer, which is totally ok, but if you're short on time or want to simplify your routine, a “one and done” product could be a great option for you.

Benefits of using a One and Done Styler

Below are some of the benefits I’ve seen when using one styler:

  1. Saves time

  2. Cuts down on drying time

  3. Decreases the chance of product build up

  4. Can give you fluffy more voluminous curls, since they are not weighted down with product

What to look for in a One and Done Styler

Due to curly hair being more prone to dryness, we need products that will provide moisture and also have ingredients that will help lock in and hold that moisture.

This is the reason we tend to use multiple products, given you often can’t find one product that provides both moisture and hold. It’s usually one or the other, but I have found a couple products that have worked as a “one and done” for my 3c4a curls that I want to share with you.

One and Done Stylers

Curlisto Lotion Plus

One product I just haven’t been able to put down over the past month is the Curlisto Lotion Plus! I discovered this product from my stylist. This product is perfect if you do not want your curls to be weighed down and just want a product that will define your natural curl pattern. When I first applied this product to my wet hair, I thought, “this isn’t going to work”, given I didn’t see the definition I usually see when applying product, but girl after diffusing my hair, it gave me life! It looked like nothing was in my hair, but my curls felt soft and had hold - I was in love. This product isn’t sold in stores, so you will have to find it in a Salon near you. If you're in the Bay Area, my stylist Antionette at Strut Oakland has it stocked - tell her I sent you :-)

Be Free Rose Water Mousse

Guys when I tell you the Be Free Rose Water Mousse is a must try, I’m not kidding. Tamera Mowry even agrees with me :-), who recently shared it on her Instagram.

This product applies to your hair like butter. Its a lightweight styling mousse that provides moisture and hold. It also easily spreads and glides through the hair. I love using this product as a one and done styler! Its also a great product to use to refresh your curls and if you want added moisture you can pair it with their leave-in. You can find the Be Free Rose Water Mousse and all the Be Kekoa products on their website or at their salon in Temecula, CA.

AG Care Re:Coil Curl Activator

I couldn’t put the AG Hair Re:Coil Curl Activator down this summer.

If you are a person that loves “clean beauty” this is your product. AG Hair is a vegan, cruelty free brand. Their products have clean ingredients and sustainable packaging. Not only that, but the Re:Coil Curl Activator is a great one and done styler. It gives a lightweight hold and just enough moisture to allow your curls to be free and not weighed down. If you want to give this product a try, I’ve linked it here for you.

LUS All-in-One

Last but surely not least, the LUS All-in-One Styler.

I was also extremely surprised at my results when I used this product because it applied so lightweight I thought I was going to end up with a frizzy mess, but it gave me touchable, voluminous curls and definition!

LUS has a All-in-One styler for three different curl types - wavy, curly, and kinky-coily. I tried the kinky-coily styler on my 3c4a curls and it worked great. If you want to try their all-in-one styler, I have linked it here for you.

Conclusion

If you haven’t found a one and done styler that works for your hair, I encourage you to keep looking. They are game changers. They come in handy when your short on time or want weightless voluminous curls.

For added moisture try pairing your one and done stylers with a little jojoba oil on wet hair before applying the product or even a light leave-in conditioner.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Please share with me your favorite one and done stylers in the comments! I would love to give them a try.
