Why 4UbyTia?

Tia Mowry is playin no games with her new Natural Hair brand, 4UbyTia!

Her brand claims to simplify natural hair routines, its vegan, science-based, and includes their hero ingredient Hemi 15. Hemi 15 is natural silicone replacement that is clean, nourishes, protects and smooths the hair. It also provides lightweight moisture that is not greasy and repairs hair strains from the inside out. Not only are they affordable, but they have clean and natural ingredients in each product along with Hemi 15. Many of the ingredients we recognize - Rosemary, Aloe Vera, Acai, Vitamin E, Apple Cider Vinegar and Sea Moss just to name a few.

What also drew me to want to try this line was knowing Tia’s own natural hair journey inspired 4UbyTia. She too straightened her hair for many years and felt the pressured to conform to societies beauty standards as many of us do. In 2012 she did a big chop because she wanted to learn about her natural hair pattern and embrace her curls. I totally resonated with her story!

With all the amazing benefits 4UbyTia offered, I had to give them a try!

4UbyTia First Impression

One of the first things I noticed when using the 4UbyTia line is that all the products are lightweight. None of the products are going to give you that “heavy” greasy feel. I also love the smell of all the products, all scents are very light, “clean”, and spa like.

I personally purchased the Deluxe Curl Care Bundle, which includes the Moisturizing Shampoo, Moisturizing Conditioner, Leave-in Curl Cream, Curl Defining Gel, Curl Refresher Mist, and the Multiuse Hair Oil. I wanted to try the products that were going to give my dry 3c4a curls the moisture it needed.

Truthfully, since these products were so lightweight I didn’t think they would work well for my tight texture. My hair usually does well with heavier products, but I was pleasantly surprised with my results.

My favorite of all the products is the Multiuse Hair Oil. I think it made the difference in my routine in keeping my dry coils hydrated. I also love how you can use it different ways. You can add it while styling your hair, you can add it to your scalp, or after your hair is dry and you want to refresh your dry ends.

4UbyTia on Tight Textures

Since tighter curls usually need lots of moisture, I would definitely recommend using the Moisturizing shampoo and Conditioner, even if your hair needs clarifying, I would double cleanse with the Clarifying Shampoo first then follow up with the Moisturizing Shampoo. The Moisturizing Shampoo left my coils feeling clean without stripping it of its natural oils. The Moisturizing Conditioner is very lightweight. I personally prefer a heavier conditioner but it still did a good job in giving me enough slip to detangle.

After you detangle, apply the Leave-in Conditioner generously all while still in the shower. This will help you take advantage of the hair cuticle being open from the steam. You really want to lock in that moisture.

Now, the next step is what I think really makes the difference for us coily gals. Applying the Multiuse Hair Oil after the Leave-In after you get out the shower on soaking wet hair. This step really helped my curls stay moisturized. Lastly, while your hair is still wet apply the Curl Defining Gel. You do not want to apply the gel after your hair has started to dry. I did this and even applied more gel in some areas when refreshing and it started to flake up on my hair. The second time I used the line, I just applied the gel while my hair was still soaking wet and I got great results, as shown on my IG here.

Conclusion

Overall, I really like the 4UbyTia line. I got great results. My hair felt hydrated and soft. I also love all the brands claims to do and so far they have delivered, all at an affordable price. I am pleasantly surprised at my results given these products are so lightweight.

I recommend those of you trying products for the first time, to use them more than once. You may notice a huge difference in your results if you tweak your routine a little bit. Give yourself time to find the right combination that works for you.
